Hey 🙂 Happy sunny days to you! Are you a bit of a sun lover, even worshipper? Using daily sun protection? Ladies, generally would you use whatever SPF is factored into your BB cream, etc?
I always figured there’s enough SPF coverage for me in what my foundation offers, it wasn’t until developing a small patch of hyper-pigmentation underneath my eye! (yep Wonderful!) That I saw, just how much the sun really does contribute and further darken, even damage the skin! Since introducing a factor 50+ (which is pretty high! Lower for less sensitive skin would be fine too). On a now daily basis, I see big improvements! The best bit & most importantly is it’s not getting any worse!
This leads me to my go to sun protection brand…
ULTRASUN Face Anti-Pigmentation SPF 50+
I highly rate this brand, tending to spend a lot of time out in the wilderness as much as possible during the summer! I’ve been using this Factor 50+ for about a year now, it agrees with me but I don’t overly apply! Note, It can feel a bit oily/whitish if over used. Yet despite the creamy texture, I’ll always start off with my usual skin care routine which includes moisturiser before applying and it’s all okay.
Claims > Facial, Anti-Pigmentation Factor 50+ Pretty potent for a sun cream I thought! Swiss brand, known for it’s ‘once per day application reliability’. With Ectoin ‘rare natural enzyme which protects the skin from UVA damage, prevents premature photo-ageing’. Reduces the intensity of old/aiding in the protection against new pigmentation cells. Also claims to have a light texture and on this aspect I somewhat agree! You must let it fully absorb before applying any make up (15-30 mins).
Verdict > The level of protection gained from a fairly small amount of product used, for me is worth any hassle of using it. I’ve noticed that my appearance remains more or less the same over the seasons which I would say is a win? I note no new damage, no new dehydration lines or pigmentation patches! My hyper-pigmentation areas are in fact now less intense than this time last year, still present, yet I don’t notice it in the same way as I had and that for me is a massive achievement! I also haven’t been burned when wearing this cream and generally will only apply once per day in the morning! This was not the case with some of my other SPF experiments! This product doesn’t come too cheaply yet for it’s quality, considering its power and with a 2 X Year shelf life, I can fully justify it!
It’s a bit of a pain sometimes I must admit and perhaps if had no reason or skin sensitivities to protect, I may have fallen a bit slack in this department, we all know the sun is damaging for our skin right? So would we not want to look after it for as long as possible and take a little preventative step? Whats your go to product if you have one?
