Weekend adventures #outandabout

With winter stubbornly holding on with no sign of easing up! Wind, rain or shine! Whatever the weather it’s good to get out and about and enjoy life all the same right?

Last weekend with a trusted friend we embraced the elements and went on a lovely, long walk. True the elements were not on our side, in fact it rained pretty much the whole day,  pretty windy at times too! But hey, we still did it, enjoyed it and have some awesome pictures to share as a result.

Living in the suburbs of London and being an absolute lover of nature, walking, exploring, house spying! And, generally being outside! Is definitely one of my favourite kinds of days out! We walked to a place called the Petersham nurseries located in Richmond, UK.

For those who are not here in the UK or have never heard of Richmond? It’s an area in a South Western Suburb of London, with a massive park located in the borough of (Richmond upon Thames). As the name would suggest located by the river Thames. The park was created by ’Charles I in the 17th century as a deer park. The largest of London’s Royal Parks, it is of national and international importance for wildlife conservation.’’ This is one of my favourite parts & parks in London, if up for a long walk I doubt you would be disappointed and even greeted by a deer or few along the way!

I love living in this area as It literally feels like having the best of both worlds? By that I mean still being inside London (even if on the edge). With the bustle of the city and all its glory being only about a 20 / 30 mins train ride away. We have all these wonderful green and vast open spaces such as Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Kingston upon Thames and last but not least the River itself. In the summer, there is honestly nowhere else I’d rather be.

If in London and looking for a good walk? With a few stops along the way for some lunch even a bit of shopping in an eclectic and quirky environment? Look no further than Richmond, Petersham Nurseries. This place is a must if in town! Being a nursery in the sense they sell all kinds of plants & bits for the garden. Yet, it doesn’t end there! With beautiful store inside selling all kinds of accessories for the home, a tea house & main dining area catering to different budgets and occasions.

Everything about this place is just simply enchanting, I especially love how well they have worked to balance the natural elements of the outside & carefully integrated these to the inside. Can you imagine how wonderful on a summer evening it would be to sit here? Have a few drinks and some food – the food was also amazing by the way & the theme of it this tea-house is that of an actual greenhouse – yet for humans 🙂

More interested in the shops? If Looking for something a bit quirky for the home or just to window shop and get inspired? Each section has been so beautifully designed, creating little settings / room environments as you go around. It’s all so inspirational, unique and makes me long for a massive house that I can design and dress up exactly how I want!

What an amazing coffee table

Lost a wing?

When It comes to the weekends how do you enjoy spending your time? I guess where the weeks are so hectic juggling work and general life when it comes to my two days off I like to spend them doing something that helps me reconnect, inspire my mind! This makes me feel so good! I find by the time Monday does comes around again (only always that bit too soon!) I’m ready to tackle whatever the new week throws at me!
